"How I Reclaimed My Waistline And Turned Back The Clock Thanks To A Simple Water Recipe!"

...WITHOUT Giving Up Any Of My Favourite Foods!

I've been married for almost ten years and have two beautiful children. For years, a part of me resented my kids for wrecking my waistline. I know that sounds terrible, and I love my kids more than anything...but the flab around my stomach stuck around for almost EIGHT YEARS after my first was born.

When I was younger, I lived a very active life.  I had so much energy and felt confident in myself.  I was healthy and happy without even trying too hard.  I was fit and strong despite rarely stepping foot in a gym.  I could eat whatever I wanted without seeing any negative effects on my body. What a time!

Unfortunately that doesn't last forever.  We get older, life gets busier, our priorities change…

Shedding extra pounds after pregnancies was incredibly hard for me. Especially after the second.  Motherhood is so rewarding, but it has ups and downs.  I'm sure every mother knows exactly what I'm talking about. During those tough times when the fatigue and lack of time kicks in, food became my comfort.  A little snack every now and then seemed harmless at first.  But over time, it took a massive toll on my weight. Every bite felt like another pound settling on my hips.

Struggling with this weight gain did more than affect my physical health,  IT HIT EVERY PART OF MY LIFE.  I was constantly exhausted, dragging myself through each day.  My mood was all over the place, it felt like my emotions were out of control,  I'm sure it was hard for anyone to be around me then.  All this impacted my social life and self-esteem.  I started avoiding social gatherings because I felt self-conscious about my appearance. I had pain in my knees and back, which made everyday activities and caring for and playing with my children increasingly difficult.

I remember this day so clearly - it was the day I really hit rock bottom.

There I was, sitting on the bathroom floor, crying my eyes out, when I should have been excited, getting dolled up for my school reunion.  I had RSVP’d months ago, telling myself I would lose the weight by then. Instead, I felt absolutely terrible about myself, weighing 217 pounds. Reluctantly I pulled myself together, put on the most flattering dress I could find and headed to the reunion…

As I entered the reunion, my spirits dropped. My classmates appeared just as youthful and in shape as they used to be, while I felt like an old blob. I tried to stay in the background, hidden away.  From the corner of my eye I saw someone approaching with a huge smile. “Maddie!”  “Hi?” I responded, not recognising the woman standing in front of me. “It’s me!  Emily!”  My jaw dropped…Emily had always struggled with extra pounds growing up, but there she was in a skin tight dress looking amazing, full of confidence and beauty.  Oh and she is a Mom of three..  

Suddenly, I started to tear up… I couldn’t believe how incredible she looked and how hideous I felt. I was struggling with my body and suddenly there was Emily, lighting up the room with her healthy glow. How does she look THIS good?!

We chatted for a while and I told her how amazing she looked.  She told me about a recipe she came across on instagram that helped her shed 50. I was intrigued so she shared the post with me.

I went home that night, not able to stop thinking…I want to be like her. I want to feel and look just as fabulous.

A few weeks later, reflecting on the reunion and still feeling ashamed that I had let myself go I remembered the post Emily had shared with me.  The recipe from the post changed my life forever!

A simple water recipe…I was sceptical, but seeing Emily’s transformation gave me hope that I hadn't had for a long time.

It Didn't Take Long...

Skip ahead 5 months...

My body has gone through an incredible transformation that I never thought was possible!  I went from 217 pounds, to 199, then 187, now 172!  I have lost 45 and am still going!  I was completely shocked by how fast and effective this coffee boost was!  To think an easy 10-second addition to your day could change your entire life is pretty impressive.

I can indulge in the foods I enjoy and have a lot more energy to run around with the kids and I didn’t have to sweat to death to look this good. When I look in the mirror, I am overjoyed to see the old me making a comeback.

For the first time ever I enjoy shopping for clothes! Shopping used to make me feel chubby and unattractive. I would go home depressed not buying a single thing. Then I would squeeze into my old stuff and feel even more miserable. I have so much confidence now! The college me is back. I loved her then and I love her even more now!

Seriously, I am still AMAZED when I look in the mirror and see the woman smiling back at me. People I haven’t seen in a while do a double take whenever they see me now!
